Eva Szanto is the Executive Director of the Bp2017 Nonprofit Ltd, and in that role she was leading the operational work of the Organising Committee for the 17th FINA World Championships & FINA World Masters Championships held in Budapest in 2017.
Being passionate about sport and sport events Eva has been involved in organising events on various levels both nationally and internationally. Budapest and the venue have hosted 5 major international sport events under her leadership, 4 of which are FINA events, since the conclusion of the transition of Duna Arena, the main swimming pool of the 2017 FINA World Championships into legacy mode.
She also has a good insight into the importance of the bidding process both from a bidder’s and a rights holder’s perspective. Her previous activities in sport management and administration include being the Secretary General of the Hungarian Rowing and Swimming Federations as well as that of the Hungarian Sports Confederation. She was a lecturer at the Hungarian University of Physical Education and Sport Sciences for several years.
Her focus on events, strategic thinking and attention to the detail at the same time took her to filling roles in international and continental sport organisations, such as FISA, FISU, ENGSO. She has recently been elected Council member of FISA and Chair of Events Commission.
She is committed to delivering events on the highest level, setting up strong partnerships, which result in lasting legacies for sport and the host city as well.
